The DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce will host County Superintendent Cheryl Atkinson on Dec. 3, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Atlanta Perimeter, 4386 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Atlanta.

The business community is invited to hear updates on DeKalb County school district's progress toward the goals and initiatives outlined in a five-year strategic plan and learn about new initiatives planned for 2013.

“We have made admirable progress, but we have much work left to do in order to meet our 2017 goals,” said Atkinson. “We are presented with challenges every day, but it does not stop us from teaching our students that a few obstacles do not excuse them from achieving ‘Victory in Every Classroom!’ I am grateful to our educators for their commitment to our children, and I am pleased that our students are proving they can do anything, be anything and overcome anything.”

The cost to attend is $45.
