Relaxing waters and serenity await you on the beautiful Azores Islands, a collection of nine volcanic islands located just west of Portugal. The public is invited to travel with the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce to the North Atlantic Ocean islands Nov. 4 – 11, 2014.

“The amazing islands of the Azores are just waiting to be discovered. These islands are nature’s masterpiece and they are just a four-hour trip away from the States,” said Ian Scott, the travel manager who is working with the Chamber on the trip. island watcher

Stunning vistas, clear blue lakes bordered by flowers, and dazzling views of the sea and lush green landscapes of ancient volcanic craters highlight the trip.

“The trip is being offered at an extremely low cost when compared to other travel agencies and websites, due to special rates provided to the Chamber,” said Scott.

“This is a great trip. It’s a great way to take an international vacation. There will be planned activities and plenty of free time for sightseeing and shopping,” said Chamber President Fred Boscarino. “The exotic botanical gardens of Parque Terra Nostra, as well as great indigenous food specialties and a visit to a tea plantation will be an added bonus too.”

Travelers can sip true European espressos in the morning and end the day with a glass of Pico wine. Scott says the hospitality of the local people in Sao Miguel and Faial will be a highlight and will be talked about long after you return.

“There will be lots of opportunities to visit landmarks led by professional tour hosts,” said Scott.

The cost for the trip is $2,249 per person, double occupancy. The price includes eight days and six nights with first-class hotel stay, 10 meals, including six buffet breakfasts, one lunch and three dinners, inter island flights, day trips and airfare from Boston. A $500 deposit is due with your registration and the final payment is due on Friday, Aug. 1.
