“Try the Trails” set in Conyers

They City of Conyers, Rockdale County and other groups are coming together to host “Try the Trails” on Saturday, June 14, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

 

Everyone is invited to come “try the trails,” at the South Rockdale River Trail walk/ride. The trail is part of the Arabia Mountain Heritage Trail System. The Monastery of the Holy Spirit, Rockdale County Government, the Arabia Mountain Heritage Alliance, the PATH Foundation, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and DeKalb County Government hosts the trail event.

This is an inaugural event marking the formal opening of the completed 30-mile trail system that makes up the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. The event includes a ribbon cutting and kickoff at 8 a.m. at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, 2625 Georgia 212, Conyers.

 

Participants can enjoy walking or riding the trails, scavenger hunts, games and activities at the trailheads in Rockdale County. Bikers, walkers and hikers are welcomed. For more information, call Marilu Montalvo at 770-278-7282 or visit www.rockdalecounty.org.
