ROCKDALE, GA – On Tuesday, Aug. 30, Georgia Military College will host a grand opening for GMC’s new satellite campus in Rockdale County at 1011 Rosser St. N.W., Conyers.
The new campus location in Conyers will provide collegiate classes for students in Rockdale County, Dekalb County, Henry County, Newton County, and surrounding areas, providing students the opportunity to pursue a college degree closer to home.
“GMC’s number one priority has always been student success and expanding our campus footprint across the state emphasizes our mission and ensures a GMC campus is close for any students with a desire to learn,” said President of Georgia Military College, Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, USA (Ret). “Georgia Military College is fully committed to providing unique opportunities, leadership development, and a hopeful future for all students in Georgia.”
In 2020, Georgia Military College and the Rockdale County Board of Education announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to provide Rockdale County Public Schools students and local families with more accessibility to higher education opportunities. After delays from Covid-19, Georgia Military College is proud to have finally started its first academic year at GMC-Rockdale earlier this month.
“We look forward to celebrating the opening of GMC in our community,” said Dr. Terry Oatts, Superintendent of Rockdale County Public Schools. “Our students will gain access to more opportunities through Dual Enrollment and being able to attend college after high school right here at home.”
