GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for shooting a man outside a local restaurant.
On Tuesday, June 6, shortly before 12:30 a.m., officers assigned to the West Precinct were dispatched to a “person shot” call at 5935 South Norcross Tucker Road in unincorporated Norcross. When officers arrived, they found a man in front of the business suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was transported to a local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the suspect was inside the restaurant and had inappropriately touched a woman’s buttocks. The victim escorted the suspect outside. After a brief conversation, the suspect began to walk away. Surveillance video showed the suspect grabbing a weapon from his waistband, turning around, and shooting the victim in the torso.
The lead detective assigned to the case identified the shooter as Carlos Alvear-Olive, 44. Carlos has active warrants for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes, Theft by Receiving, and Sexual Battery.
