Rockdale County Commissioner Doreen Williams will present “Community Conversations on Mental Health: Focus on Veterans” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Rockdale Career Academy.
A free dinner will be served beginning at 5 p.m. and there will be time to visit numerous vendors who provide services or discounts for veterans. The program will begin at 6:45 p.m.
The forum is the fourth in a series sponsored by Commissioner Williams. Previous forums have included topics on recovery, suicide prevention, and the intersection of criminal justice and mental health.
The goal of each forum has been to Educate the Community, Raise Awareness, and Reduce Stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorders. This forum will be educational for veterans, their friends and families, and providers of veteran services.
