DEKALB COUNTY, GA—A DeKalb County woman is facing felony murder charges in the death of her 7-year-old daughter, Alivia Hobbs-Jordan.
DeKalb County Police have charged Alondra Hobbs with felony Murder and Cruelty in the second degree on Thursday, June 2, in connection with the child’s death.
The child’s decaying body was found on Sunday, June 25, at the Hidden Valley Apartments, located at 2815 Misty Water Drive, off of Candler Road, Decatur.
According to 11Alive, a man who made the discovery and asked for anonymity, said he noticed the front door of an apartment was “wide open.” The man told the television station that he smelled an odor coming from the apartment. He walked inside to a back bedroom and noticed that an arm was sticking out of a closet. He said the girl’s body looked like a “mummy.” He called 911 to report what he had seen.
Police did not state how long the child had been dead or the cause of death its news release. No further details were provided.
