ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—Community activist Josie Dean is calling on the community to stand in unity with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis as Fulton officials await the surrender of Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants in the Georgia election case. The former president and his 18 associates have until Aug. 25 to turn themselves in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s officials after being criminally charged as being part of a “criminal enterprise” that conspired to overturn Trump’s electoral defeat.
Last week, CNN reported that the FBI was looking into allegations of threats against Fulton County officials, including Willis. Threats reportedly have been made against employees for the role they will play in Trump’s surrender and that of his associates. Trump faces 91 charges involving four separate criminal cases as he mounts his bid for president in 2024. Trump has denied any wrongdoing in the cases.
“We are standing behind the DA in her push to right an injustice brought on by former President Donald Trump and his associates who attempted to overturn th 2020 presidential election results,” Dean said stated in a news release.
Dean, founder of Black Man Never Forget, and Civil Rights leader John Evans, who heads Operation LEAD, are hosting the press conference a noon on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 1524 Flat Shoals Rd. S.W., Conyers. Citizens are invited the press conference.
