ATLANTA –Georgia Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) hosted Senior Citizens Day in House District 93 on Monday, Aug. 21, at the East DeKalb Senior Center in Lithonia. Carter held the event to provide information and resources to the aging population in House District 93.
“Protecting our senior adults is one of my highest priorities,” said Carter. “We must do everything in our power to ensure that they have the best quality of life.”
At the event, R. Carter was joined by Nathan Coflin, Senior Medicare Patrol Outreach Specialist, to discuss Medicare and fraud prevention. Attendees learned about ways to protect their identities, how to identify and report errors on health care bills, as well as how to identify deceptive health practices.
“Senior Citizens Day in House District 93 was a successful and informative event,” said Carter. “I urge my constituents to visit my Facebook page to stay informed on other community events taking place in and around our district.”
Carter represents the citizens of District 93, which includes portions of DeKalb, Newton and Rockdale counties. Carter was elected to the House of Representatives in 2015 and currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Code Revision, Education, Industry and Labor, Small Business Development and Special Rules committees.
