STONECREST, GA— Seniors are invited to attend the New Birth/Samson Health & Fitness Center’s “Senior Health Matters Fall Expo” on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m.
The Fall Expo will be held at Samson Health and Fitness Center, located on New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s campus, located at 6400 Woodrow Road, Stonecrest, GA.
The expo will include a full-packed morning focused on wellness, fitness, and lifestyle improvements. DaShaun Johnson, Guru of Abs, will lead an energizing workout and participants also will have the chance to interact with informative vendors offering open enrollment information, door prizes, raffles and giveaways. There will be free T-shirts for all seniors who register for the event and lunch. Community partners for the event also will be on hand to offer COVID-19 booster and influenza vaccination shots at no cost.
New Birth’s pastor, Jamal H. Bryant, will welcome participants to the expo, which will also celebrate Samson reaching 10,000 Silver Sneakers members visiting the facility in 2023.

Director of Athletics Melanie Render said seniors who attend the Expo will have the opportunity to sign up for free, weekly fitness classes. Samson Fitness currently has 220 participants enrolled in the weekly classes, she said.
“We host the largest, seated, workout class on Tuesday and Thursday weekly, and the number continues to grow,” Render said.“Our senior fitness classes are for all fitness levels and can be modified to allow seniors with all levels of mobility to participate. We currently have seniors in wheelchairs and those who rely on walkers attending weekly.”
In addition to the exercise classes, Samson Fitness also offers Senior Body Sculpting, Samson Senior Fit, Ballroom dancing, Line dancing, and Zumba—all free are to seniors.
