DECATUR, GA—As homelessness continues to be a pressing issue in DeKalb County, Commissioner Patrick Robert is hosting a town hall conversation dedicated to addressing this critical concern.
The event, entitled “It Takes A Village,” will take place on Friday, April 12, at Mercer University, starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at 12 noon.
“We believe that tackling homelessness requires a collective effort,” said Patrick, who represents County Commission District 1. “By convening this town hall, we hope to unite our community in a shared commitment to compassion, empathy, and action.”
Homelessness has become an increasingly prevalent issue in DeKalb County, mirroring trends seen across the nation, Patrick noted.
“With neighboring municipalities intensifying their efforts to combat homelessness, there is a notable migration of affected individuals into our county. It is imperative that we come together as a community to confront this challenge head-on and explore effective solutions,” said Patrick.
The “It Takes A Village” town hall aims to foster an open dialogue among a diverse group of community members, experts, advocates, and policymakers to develop collaborative strategies to address the crisis.
The event is open to all concerned citizens, community leaders and organizations. Registration is required via: http://bit.ly/3Tx0nTG
