City of Decatur welcomes new Communications Manager/Public Information Officer Antoinett Govan

DECATUR, GA– The City of Decatur welcomes Antoinette Govan as its new Communications Manager/PIO. Govan comes to the Division of Equity and Engagement with more than 20 years of communications experience.

Prior to joining the City of Decatur team, she served as the director of communications and community relations for the City of Atlanta. Govan also spent part of her career as a senior manager, writer, and producer at several local and national television stations.

“I am thrilled to be joining the City of Decatur’s Equity and Engagement Team. The city’s outstanding reputation for excellence, innovation, and dedication to serving its customers’ needs is truly inspiring. I am eager to collaborate closely with the team and utilize my experience to make a meaningful impact,” said Govan.

In her new role, Govan will develop and lead communication strategies, manage the City’s website, assist with managing Decatur’s brand, engage the community in key City initiatives, and serve as the City’s public information officer.
