DECATUR, GA—DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) invites the community to its inaugural Registered and Ready Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, Ga. 30032.
As the November 2024 General Election approaches, this interactive and family-friendly event offers DeKalb residents a unique opportunity to get election-ready in a fun, community-driven atmosphere.
“We are excited to host our very first community block party, offering a fun and engaging way to ensure every eligible voter in DeKalb is prepared for the upcoming election,” said Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE. “We encourage DeKalb residents to join us, get informed, and take the necessary steps to make their voices heard in November.”
Designed to make voter registration accessible and bring the community together, the block party will feature:
- Live music from local high school bands
- Food trucks serving a variety of delicious food options
- Games and activities for families and kids
- Community resources to help support and inform attendees
Along with live entertainment, attendees can take advantage of essential election services, including a voter registration drive, on-site verification of voter registration status, Voter ID card issuance, and access to critical election information to ensure they are ready to participate in November’s election.
This event is free and open to the public. Whether individuals are registering to vote for the first time or simply updating their registration, the Registered and Ready Block Party provides a fun and convenient way for DeKalb residents to prepare and make their voices are heard at the ballot box.
