ATLANTA, GA—The Georgia House of Representatives and the State Senate are accepting applications for interested students who want to serve as Pages during the 2025 Legislative Session.
The Page Programs offer students ages 12-18 the opportunity to visit the State Capitol and serve for one day during the 40-day legislative session. The first day of the 2025 session is Monday, Jan. 13.
This year’s House Page Program, which will begin on Jan. 27, began accepting Page Interest Forms on Jan. 2.
Members sponsor students from their districts and their one-day service as a page is counted as a day present. Students receive an honorarium and certificate for their participation.
State Rep. Rhonda Taylor, House District 92, recently touted the Page Programs during a virtual town hall, which included constituents from Rockdale County (her district), as well as residents from neighboring Newton County.
“Make sure that your children take advantage of the Page Program,” said Taylor. “It is an opportunity for them to come down to the Capitol and learn how government works…It is so important that our children learn about government and civics now so that as they grow older, they are in a position to take our place.”
As a Page, students serve lawmakers by delivering important information and messages into either the House Chamber or Senate Chamber (whichever program they are accepted as a participant). In addition to performing legislative duties, Pages observe lawmakers, governmental affairs consultants, staff, and constituents working together in the legislative process while they are at the Capitol.
