DECATUR, GA] – The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections is inviting public feedback on proposed changes to polling site locations aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility.
DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) will host a community meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m., to discuss proposed polling site location changes and gather insights from voters. The meeting will be held in person at the DeKalb VRE office 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, Decatur, and will also be livestreamed via DCTV.
To make participation more convenient, DeKalb VRE has established three satellite locations where voters can watch the meeting and share their input:

“As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the gold standard in elections, DeKalb VRE is proposing strategic updates to optimize polling locations,” said Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE. “We value community feedback and insights as they are essential in shaping our recommendations to the board. These proposed changes are designed to enhance operational efficiency, better utilize resources, and ensure an equitable and accessible voting experience for all residents.”
As part of this review, DeKalb VRE evaluated polling locations that are underutilized, challenging to access, or lack essential amenities such as restrooms, ramps, water fountains, or proximity to public transportation. By relocating and consolidating certain sites, the goal is to provide voters with more suitable facilities that meet their needs and enhance their voting experience.
If any polling changes are approved by the DeKalb BRE, all voters impacted by any changes will be reassigned to nearby polling locations to minimize travel burdens. These proposed adjustments reflect minimal and proportionate changes across DeKalb County’s south, central, and north regions.
During the Feb. 5 meeting, DeKalb VRE staff will present details of the proposed changes and welcome feedback from attendees in person and online. Following the meeting, the presentation outlining the proposed changes and a public survey will be available on the DeKalb VRE website at www.DeKalbVotes.com.
