CONYERS, GA—The city of Conyers welcomes Spring with the return of its free concert series starting Saturday, April 12, with three concerts featuring dynamic opening acts and headliners.
The Conyers Concert Series is scheduled for Saturdays on April 12, May 10, and June 14 from 6-10 p.m. and will take place on Railroad Street, a new location this year due to construction on the Rockdale County Judicial and Administration Complex.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy music and food under the stars. No tents are allowed. Admission and parking are free.
New this year, VIP tables will be available for each concert. VIP tables for the first concert will go on sale March 13(information below). VIP seating includes one round table with tablecloth, seating for eight people, a group photo taken by the event photographer, and concert swag for the table. Concert-goers are encouraged to decorate their VIP table with a specific theme for each concert for a chance to win a prize.
The April 12 concert will bring the amazing sounds of the No Diggity Band, self-described as “musical alchemists, seamlessly blending their own unique style and mash-ups” of 90s-2000s hip-hop, pop and R&B. Opening for No Diggity Band is SamiAutomatic, an artist who’s been wowing audiences for more than a decade with powerful vocals ranging from a delicate falsetto to a dark and sultry register.
The May 10 concert features international touring sensation, “Uptown Funk: The Ultimate Tribute to Bruno Mars,” with opener Risky Biscuit, covering favorite 80s and 90s hits, mashups and dance songs. The June 14 concert, Marshall Charloff and the Purple XPeRIeNCE – The Premier Prince Tribute, has been met with rave audience reviews, and will feature opener BOOM! Trio, specializing in pop jazz.
“Last year’s concert series and the positive response from the thousands who attended exceeded our expectations, so we’re thrilled to welcome another fantastic slate of performers to take the Conyers stage,” said Event Coordinator Jill Minnoia.
Food trucks will be on-site, in addition to nearby Olde Town restaurants open for patrons. Participating food trucks will be announced on the city’s social media channels closer to the date of each event.
Railroad Street will be closed to through-traffic on Saturdays, April 12, May 10 and June 14 starting at 9 a.m. for setup and takedown of the stage.
