Registration open for “Conyers University,” residents get inside look at their City government

CONYERS, GA—Conyers residents eager to learn more about their city government and community are encouraged to register for Conyers University, a free, six-week program designed to educate and personalize local government for citizens.

Conyers University students will attend and participate in six weeks of sessions on Monday evenings beginning Monday, Oct. 6, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. All sessions, with the exception of the public safety session, will take place at Conyers City Hall. 

Classes will be led by city staff and officials on a variety of topics and departments relevant to citizens living and working in Conyers. Each session includes an interactive activity relevant to the session’s topic. 

Graduation and recognition for Conyers University students will take place at the Nov.19, Conyers City Council meeting.

“Conyers has a great story to tell and participants in the past two years of our Conyers University classes can attest to that,” said Mayor Vince Evans.

“Throughout Conyers University sessions, citizens have the opportunity to interact with us on a one-on-one level to learn more about the services and quality of life offerings

afforded to those who call Conyers home. We’re eager to meet and get to know citizens who want to learn more about what we do at the city.”

Conyers University is limited to 20 participants who must be residents of Conyers or Rockdale County.
