DECATUR, GA — DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) is reminding voters about the Tuesday, Dec. 2 runoff elections. Based on the certified election results, the following three contests are included in the runoff election in DeKalb County:
- Atlanta Board of Education Member, District 8, At Large
- Atlanta City Council Member District 7
- Stonecrest City Council Member, District Post
“We are reminding voters to finish this election cycle strong in DeKalb County and take part in the runoff elections in three contests,” said VRE Director Keisha L. Smith. “We encourage voters who are eligible to cast a ballot in the runoff election contests but who may not have voted during the early voting period or by absentee ballot, to make a plan to vote on Election Day.”
Several precincts within the City of Atlanta portion of DeKalb County will vote at municipal polling places for this runoff only. Impacted voters received mailed notifications. Voters who do not reside within Atlanta city limits are not eligible to participate in the runoff. All other voters in the City of Atlanta and in Stonecrest’s District 5 will vote at their usual precincts. While all other precincts in DeKalb will close at 7 p.m., Atlanta precincts will close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Additional Voter Reminders:
- Double check your voting precinct before heading to cast your ballot.Visit www.DeKalbVotes.comor the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. Provisional ballots are available to out-of-precinct voters during all polling hours. However, if a voter casts a provisional ballot before 5:00 p.m., they must sign an affidavit acknowledging that their ballot will not be counted. Provisional ballots for voters who are at the wrong precinct are only counted if cast after 5:00 p.m. and before the regular time for the closing of the polls.
- Confirm your voter status using the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. If your status is listed as “inactive,” you may still cast a ballot in this election. Casting a ballot will change your status from “inactive” to “active” following the election.
- All absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.Completed absentee ballots can be hand delivered to the DeKalb VRE office, located at 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, in Decatur, by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots submitted at a polling location on Election Day are not considered received by the deadline and will be rejected. Ballots must be delivered to the DeKalb VRE main office by 7 p.m.
- Voters with a physical disability or voters who are 75 years of age and older do not need to wait in line.These voters may go to the entrance of the polling place and a poll worker will assist them in casting their ballot.
- Election resultswill be posted throughout the evening on Election Day at www.DeKalbVotes.com.
- If you have any questions or observe suspiciousactivity, notify the poll manager immediately.
