DEKALB COUNTY, GA – DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, alongside the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, will host a drive-thru food distribution starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, reinforcing the County’s ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting families in need.
No registration is required. Participation is open to DeKalb County residents only.
“Food insecurity remains a nationwide challenge,” said CEO Cochran-Johnson. “This work is only possible through collaboration. With the support of our Board of Commissioners, faith leaders, volunteers, and community partners, we are meeting families where they are and delivering help when it matters most.”
The countywide distribution will provide 4,000 boxes of fresh produce and nonperishable food items at six locations, ensuring convenient access for residents throughout the community. Distribution will continue while supplies last at the following locations:
- Berean Christian Church, 2201 Young Road, Stone Mountain
- Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Clifton Springs Road, Decatur
- New Life Church, 3592 Flat Shoals Road, Decatur
- Saint Phillip AME Church, 240 Candler Road SE, Atlanta
- Plaza Fiesta, 4166 Buford Highway NE, Atlanta
- Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2997 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker
In addition to immediate relief efforts, DeKalb County continues to combat food insecurity through long-term strategies such as the DeKalb Food Resilience Initiative, which focuses on sustainable food access, strategic partnerships, and strengthening community resilience.
