DEKALB COUNTY, GA—A DeKalb County man has been found guilty of drug trafficking out of his Ellenwood home, DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston announced.
Vincent Denard Simon, 41, was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison and an additional 40 years on probation during a sentencing hearing on Thursday, June 4. DeKalb County Magistrate Judge Matthew McCoyd, who presided over the trial, also ordered Simon to pay a $1.1 million fine.
Simon was found guilty on Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Marijuana, and two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony stemming from a sting operation that culminated in the execution of a search warrant on Feb. 6, 2024, investigators said.
According to the investigation, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation learned Simon was selling drugs out of a house on Ward Lake Way in Ellenwood. After completing some controlled buys of drugs from Simon, agents obtained a search warrant for his home.

During the search, investigators found 132 pounds of marijuana, about a kilogram of methamphetamine pills, other unidentified pills and powders, and more than 40 firearms including rifles, shotguns, pistols, and some automatic weapons.
Technicians at the GBI lab tested some of the pills to confirm they were methamphetamine.
The case, assigned to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Unit (HIDTA), was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Reid White with assistance from Assistant District Attorney Brittany Carter. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Assistant Special Agent in Charge R. Jordan led the initial investigation.
