CONYERS, GA—The Conyers City Council work sessions will now be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 4 p.m. followed by city council meetings at 6 p.m.
Work sessions offer the mayor and all council members the opportunity to weigh in and discuss various topics or projects prior to being presented for consideration at regular city council meetings.
Agenda items discussed during a work session will not be considered or voted on at the council meeting scheduled for the same evening. Items will be placed on the city council agenda for consideration and a vote at the next regularly scheduled council meeting.
The first work session in the new time slot of 4 p.m. will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Items discussed at the 4 p.m. work session will be presented at the Sept. 2 council meeting for a vote.
Work sessions or council meetings may be canceled if there is lack of agenda items. Follow the city’s calendar of events at conyersga.com for the latest meeting announcements and cancellations.
Work sessions and council meetings are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the city’s website, conyersga.com.
Allotted time for citizen comments will continue to be part of work session and council meeting agendas,
ensuring citizens have the opportunity to address the council.
Agendas are available to citizens prior to the meetings on the city website:
