DEKALB COUNTY, GA— The DeKalb County Police Department is seeking the public’s help finding a suspect wanted in connection with a series of all-terrain vehicles (ATV ) thefts, luring victims through social media.
Detectives have identified Jordan Wright, 21, who is currently wanted for three separate counts of Theft by Taking. Police said Wright could be linked to additional cases.
In the theft cases, the suspect met victims through social media to buy an ATV. This led to an in-person meetup, where the suspect required a test drive. He then fled the area on the vehicle and cut off communication with the victim. He was believed to be armed during these incidents, authorities said.
Last Friday (Oct. 2), DeKalb County Police were searching for Wright and believed him to be barricaded in a residence in the 4300 block of Pleasant Point Drive. SWAT officers responded and went into the residence. They did locate a firearm, but they did not find Wright inside.
The public is asked to use caution if they see Wright or know of his whereabouts. If anyone knows where to find him, they are encouraged to call 911. They can also send an anonymous tip through the free DeKalb County PD app or by texting “DKPD” to 847411, followed by the tip.
