DECATUR, GA- A DeKalb County man has been indicted for allegedly running over his estranged wife with his truck and then concealing her death.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, a DeKalb County Grand Jury indicted Nelson Clements, 64, on two counts of Homicide by Vehicle in the First Degree, Reckless Driving, Hit and Run Resulting in Serious Injury or Death, Stalking, and Concealing the Death of Another in connection with the death of his estranged wife, Janice Frazier Clements, 58, on June 21, 2026.
The indictment alleges that Clements caused his wife’s death as he was pulling his truck out of her driveway, she grabbed onto the door handle and he accelerated, running her over in the street. Clements is then accused of not immediately stopping his car to help her, not immediately calling emergency services to report the collision, and attempting to conceal her death.
Clements was arrested on a Grand Jury warrant on Oct. 23, 2026, and booked into the DeKalb County Jail where he remains in custody without bond.
The case will be prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Unit and has been assigned to DeKalb County Superior Court Judge LaTisha Dear Jackson. Defendant Clements will soon be scheduled for an arraignment and then a trial date may be set.
