ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA—In courtrooms and in communities, justice is built one decision at a time, by leaders who show up, stand firm, and never forget who they serve.
Today, Judge Sunny Mullins announced her candidacy for Rockdale County State Court Judge, bringing nearly two decades of legal experience, a record of service, and an unwavering commitment to the people of Rockdale County.
“Justice isn’t just a word that we put on buildings. It’s a promise we make to every person who walks through the courthouse doors,” said Judge Mullins. “I’m running because I believe in that promise and I intend to keep it.”
Judge Mullins currently serves as an Associate Magistrate Judge in Rockdale County, where she presides over criminal matters and handles warrant issuances outside normal court hours.
She also founded and leads Sunny & Associates, LLC, where she has built a reputation for excellence in litigation, transactional law, and fierce advocacy for individuals and families navigating complex legal challenges.
Admitted to practice law in both Georgia and Minnesota, Judge Mullins has spent her career in rooms where the stakes are high and the margins for error are slim. She has negotiated complex contracts, advocated for clients facing life-altering charges, and never lost sight of the human beings at the center of every case.
Rockdale County isn’t just where Judge Mullins works; it’s been her home for more than 15 years. She is married to a dedicated public servant, City of Atlanta Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief, and together they share four amazing children. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and remains deeply rooted in the community she serves.
Her campaign will focus on protecting public trust in the judiciary, expanding access to fair and timely justice, and ensuring that every resident of Rockdale County, regardless of background or circumstance, can count on a court system that works for them.
“When people ask why I’m running, the answer is simple,” said Judge Mullins.”Because everyone who walks into that courtroom deserves a judge who will hear them and treat them fairly. That’s the commitment I’m making.”
