DEKALB COUNTY, GA—William Daniel Wright has been sentenced to serve life in prison, plus five years for the murder of his stepmother, Debra Wright, 72, the Office of the DeKalb District Attorney Sherry Boston announced this week. The Clarkston man was found guilty on Aug. 29 of killing Debra Wright over the pending sale of his childhood home, which Daniel Wright’s father, her late husband left her. Jurors found Wright guilty of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony. Winder is located about 50 miles east of Atlanta in Barrow County. Two students and two teachers were killed and 9 others were hospitalized—eight students and teachers–in the incident.
