ATLANTA – MARTA, in partnership with Community Farmers Markets (CFM), will kick off the 2024 MARTA Market Food Pantry on Valentine’s Day The markets will begin on Wednesday, Feb.14, at H.E. Holmes Station; Thursday, Feb.15, at College Park and Kensington stations; and Friday, Feb.16, at Doraville and Five Points stations. DECATUR, GA—The DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office will present an update on property tax exemptions on Feb. 20, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Community Achievement Center, 4522 Flat Shoals Parkway (lower level). An ADA-compliant entrance is available. Homeowners are invited to attend the meeting. This update will educate homeowners on the various tax exemptions and how to apply; possibly saving homeowners money on their 2024 property taxes. CONYERS, GA— A crowd of families turned out this past weekend for the Rockdale County Public Schools “Parent Academy Be More in 2024!” on Saturday, Feb. 24. The free event featured classes and workshops for parents and students, student performances, and door prizes. Families were also treated to free box lunches and childcare was provided to those who needed it for younger children attending. The half-day event was held at Salem Middle School. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– The Gwinnett County Police Department is urging the public to utilize dedicated parking spaces at each precinct and its headquarters for E-Commerce transactions. E-Commerce Exchange parking signs have been erected for the public’s use. The Police Department’s announcement comes after the arrest of a 20-year-old Snellville man who robbed a woman at her home during a transaction that began from an online marketplace advertisement.
