ATLANTA—Eugene Jones, director of the Atlanta Housing Authority, tendered his resignation on Tuesday, Sept. 12, marking the end of his nearly four-year tenure overseeing housing initiatives in the city of Atlanta. Mayor Andre Dickens praised Jones’ contributions and said he would request that the Atlanta Housing Authority Board launch a national search to find a successor. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– The Gwinnett County Police Department(GCPD) is nvestigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a man today, Sept. 13. Shortly before 1 p.m., officers assigned to the Central Precinct were dispatched to a “Person Shot” call in the parking lot of 2131 Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth. The 911 call was made by a witness who was in the parking lot at the time of the shooting and saw the incident occur, police said. Kemp, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), announced today (tSept. 12) hat calendar year 2022 was record-breaking for the state’s tourism industry, welcoming the largest number of visitors the state has ever seen.
