LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – A Gwinnett County jury has returned a guilty verdict against a Buford couple involved in a case of repeated sexual abuse a 7-year-old girl with the mother instructing the girl to lie to authorities.  Javen Tyree Richardson, 25, was convicted of four counts of aggravated child molestation and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences with the first 80 years to serve in prison. Akilah Amin, the child’s 30-year-old mother, was convicted of one count of influencing a witness and one count of cruelty to children in the second degree. DECATUR, GA-  A Decatur woman was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday, April 23, for the murder of her 7-year-old special needs daughter, whom she abandoned and left to die alone.  Alondra Hobbs, 29, entered a non-negotiated guilty plea to charges of Malice Murder, two counts of Felony Murder, and two counts of Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, stemming from the death of her daughter, Alivia Jordan.  The child’s mummified remains were discovered strapped in a stroller inside a bedroom closet on June 25, 2023.  DeKalb County Superior Court Judge LaTisha Dear Jackson, who presided over the hearing,sentenced…

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– Rockdale County Parks and Recreation is rolling out The Rec ‘N’ Crew, a mobile recreation program designed to bring fun, games, and engaging activities directly to parks and green spaces throughout the county — all on wheels. GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – A Gwinnett County jury found a Duluth man guilty of murder for inflicting fatal injuries on his 9-week-old daughter. Khaliq Woods, 29, was convicted of two counts of felony murder, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of first-degree cruelty to children for the November 2019, death of baby Kamila Woods.
