Center for Civil and Human Rights presents lecture on indigenous people’s rights
A panel of leaders, activists, and educators from Indigenous Nations will discuss indigenous people’s rights on Thursday, Nov. 10, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Center for Civil and Human Rights, 100 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd.
Billy Sparks and Grandmother Grace Smith Yellowhammer will lead the audience through topics of representation on historical maps, current issues such as the Dakota Access Pipeline, cultural misappropriation and more. This is a free event but requires an RSVP.

Stonecrest Library sets “Super Book Sale,” Scribes & Vibes
The Stonecrest Library Friends group is hosting a “Super Book Sale” on Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Stonecrest Library, 3123 Klondike Road, Lithonia.
Books in all categories(fiction/non-fiction, crafts text books, romance series, magazines, encyclopedias, books on tapes, CD, DVDs and VHS) will be available.
Also, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Scribes & Vibes monthly celebration of the arts will be held. Enjoy a blend of poetry, music and fine arts through musical performances, open mic and art exhibits.

DeKalb police get ready for ninth annual ‘Bowl with Santa’
Join the DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police for the ninth annual Charity Bowling for Santa Cop on Sunday, Nov. 13, 4 p.m., at FunTime Bowl, 3285 Buford Highway, Atlanta,
With the help of donations from the public, the DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police will make this Christmas a little brighter for more than 50 children this holiday season.
Companies can purchase lane sponsorships for $100, which include the display of the company’s logo and bowling for two players. There will be prizes for the highest team score and the total score for male and female bowlers.

Rockdale Medical to host $5 jewelry sale
The Rockdale Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary will host a $5 Jewelry and Accessories sale on Monday, Nov. 21, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 22, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the hospital’s East Tower Classrooms, 1412 Milstead Ave.
Cash, credit, debit, and payroll deductions will be accepted. Proceeds from the sale will fund the purchase of new sleeper chairs for the Birth Place.
Library’s Stitchers group invites all levels
