CONYERS, GA—The magic of the holiday season will transport spectators to a world of nostalgia as the Conyers Christmas Parade makes it way through Olde Town on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m.
This year’s theme, “A Storybook Christmas” will offer a world of nostalgia as parade participants don festive costumes and deck out floats inspired by beloved holiday tales.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the creativity depicting beloved Christmas stories brought to life in parade entries and floats,” said Olde Town Event Coordinator Shertekia DiNardo.
More than 70 parade entries are slated to participate, including the three local high school bands, churches, dance groups, scout troops, civic organizations, businesses,
and more, all heralding the arrival of Santa Claus.
A variety of trophies will be awarded in several categories:
- Mayor’s Choice
- Best Float
- Best Float Runner-Up
- Best Non-Float entry (antique vehicles, marching bands, dance groups, scout troops)
- Most Creative Entry
If You Go:
- Road Closures: Expect delays 12–2 p.m., while participants stage and line up. Road closures along the parade route begin at 1:30 p.m. Conyers Police will close Rowland Road, Pine Log Road and a portion of Milstead Avenue ahead of the parade.
- Parade Route: The parade teps off from Rockdale County High School and concludes at the at the intersection of Milstead Avenue and Pine Street.
- Best viewing: Pine Log Road and Main Street. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot along the parade route. After the parade, stick around Olde Town Conyers for dining and festive Christmas lights. The parade will be held rain or shine, barring severe weather conditions.
