CONYERS, GA—School groups, businesses, churches, bands, organizations, dance ensembles, and more are encouraged to register for the annual Conyers Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m Those interested in participating in the parade can register at:
https://bit.ly/48e4HQF. Registration is $25 per entry and the registration deadline is Nov. 10.
Conyers Police will close Rowland Road, Pine Log Road and a portion of Milstead Avenue for the parade that steps off from Rockdale County High School. The parade concludes at the intersection of Milstead Avenue and Pine Street. Spectators are encouraged to gather early for a spot along the parade route. Barring severe weather, the parade will be held rain or shine.
“This year’s parade theme is “Storybook Christmas” and trophies will be awarded in several categories:
Mayor’s Choice, Best Non-Float entry (antique vehicles, marching bands, dance groups, scout troops)
Best Float, Best Float Runner-up and Most Creative Entry,” said Olde Town Event Coordinator Shertekia DiNardo.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the creativity depicting our favorite Christmas stories come to life in parade entries and floats.”
Leading up to the parade, you’re invited to join the city and Rockdale County for the new holiday event, Festive Night of Lights, on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The switch will be flipped as Olde Town Conyers will twinkle with thousands of Christmas lights to evoke the wonder and magic of the holiday season along with
festivities such as visits with Santa, games, music and a drone show lighting up the night sky after dusk. Admission and parking are free.
