CONYERS, GA—The Conyers-Covington Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will host as Political Forum Night on Tuesday, April 30, 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the JP Carr Community Center, 981 Taylor Street, Conyers.
Event organizers say that citizens will be able to ask questions to gain a better understanding of the candidates’ platforms and critical issues impacting Rockdale County.
Invited guest panelists include candidates running for:
Rockdale Sheriff
Rockdale Board of Commissioners Chairman
County Commissioner, Post 1
Superior Court Judge
Board of Education
A complete list of confirmed candidates will be updated in the next few weeks, organizers say.
The General Primary/Nonpartisan Elections will be held on May 21. Advance voting will be held April 29 through May 17. The General Electio will be held Nov. 5, 2024.
“Our goal is for citizens to be able to hear each candidates’ vision in their own words for Rockdale County,” said Elder Brockman, event organizer and chairman of the fraternity’s Political & Civic Action Committee, which is hosting the event. “Listening to negative comments about another candidate is not what this event is about. It’s about letting the issues take center stage as opposed to candidates attacking one another.”
Organizers say this is a non-partisan event—not a campaign rally. No campaign literature signs, posters, banners, T-shirts, buttons, hats or any other campaign paraphernalia will be allowed at the event.
