CONYERS, GA—Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts (CRCA) plans to roll out a jazz series as part of a new music and performance program it is launching in 2023. The jazz series will be held in the CRCA Black Box Theater beginning in January.
CRCA has also created Inspiration Theater, which will include theatrical performances, community outreach and community education to inspire awareness, discourse, and ultimately positive social change. The first two performances will be Heaven In Chains in March 2023 and The Bench in August 2023.
“We were able to re-start Theater Out of the Box, our theater education program for citizens with disabilities, in the fall, and the performance on Dec. 3 was an amazing success,” CRCA Executive Director Shelli Siebert stated. “We continued our children’s arts education program with ArtSmart Camp, Preschool+Pops: Children’s Performance Series, Rockdale County Public Schools Student Photography Contest, and Conyers Rockdale Creative Kids Partnership.”
Siebert said the CRCA staff has worked diligently to apply for grants offered locally, regionally, and nationally this past year. She said the organization has received grants from all three areas and now needs matching funds. She is urging the community to make donations the CRCA during this season of giving.
The organization’s donation form is available at https://conyersarts.org/donate-to-crca/. Checks may be made out to CRCA, P.O. Box 852, Conyers, GA 30012.
