CONYERS, GA—Conyers will welcome spring with a new, free concert series starting Saturday, April 13, with the amazing sounds of Soul Cartel, a dynamic American band expertly combining the catchy grooves of funk music with the soulful melodies of R&B. Opening for Soul Cartel is KymBerli Dee, an artist who’s been wowing audiences for more than 20 years with powerful vocals specializing in the sounds of Neo-Soul and R&B.
The Conyers Concert Series is scheduled for Saturdays on April 13, May 11, and June 8 from 6-10 p.m. and will take place on Bank Street in Olde Town Conyers. Food trucks will be on-site, in addition to nearby Olde Town restaurants open for patrons. Participating food trucks will be announced on the city’s social media channels closer to the date of each event. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy music and food under the stars. Admission and parking are free.
The May 11 concert features the rock and roll sounds of Mother’s Finest, an Atlanta favorite and Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee, with opener Leah Belle Faser, performing songs with pop, country, rock and folk influences. The June 8 concert, “Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute,” has been met with rave audience reviews, and will feature opener, 80ators, Atlanta’s awesome ‘80s tribute band.
“This concert series has been a desire of the city for quite some time. We are so excited to add these three music-centric events to our already busy event schedule,” said Director of Public Relations and Tourism Jennifer Edwards.
Bank Street between Pine Street and Main Street will be closed to through-traffic on Saturdays, April 13, May 11 and June 8 for setup and takedown of the stage.
