DECATUR, GA– The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit on Tuesday(May 9) arrested a suspect charged with offenses related to domestic partner disputes.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jarrell Wright, 32, of Decatur without incident on warrants charging him with the following:
Home Invasion in the First Degree, two counts of Armed Robbery Weapon, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Criminal Damage to Property in the First Degree – all Felonies; and, Battery Family Violence First Offense and Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree – both Misdemeanors.
On April 12, according to arrest warrants, Wright attempted to forcibly enter the Lithonia, Georgia residence of a woman with whom he had a previous relationship. Wright allegedly kicked open the front door and fired a handgun at another armed man in the house before becoming engaged in a physical altercation with him and assaulting the woman. Wright is also accused of taking the other man’s weapon and the woman’s purse. Warrants allege that juveniles were present during the incident.
Wright was taken into custody at a Decatur residence and transported to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
