DEKALB COUNTY, GA—Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will be honored on Sunday, Aug. 13, at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel during the annual 100 Black Men of DeKalb (BMOD) 2023 Scholarship Gala Weekend. The annual Women of DeKalb Jazz Brunch recognizes the contributions of DeKalb women who have made tremendous contributions to the community, their professions and beyond. The theme for this year’s event is Bridging the Gap While Lighting the Path.
During the event, Cochran-Johnson’s leadership and commitment will be highlighted, along with Brenda G. Reid, media and community relations manager for Publix Supermarkets, and Portia Bruner of FOX 5 Atlanta and host of the “Portia” show.
“Many thanks to the 100 BMOD for selecting me as a 2023 Jazz Brunch Honoree,” Commissioner Cochran-Johnson said. “It is indeed an honor to be acknowledged and stand beside such amazing and accomplished women. The 100 BMOD is a valued partner in my service delivery of critical youth programs and is a co-sponsor of my annual Lock-In for Life. They have worked alongside me to mentor and touch the lives of over 500 young men since 2019. I owe them gratitude for being men who lead by example.”
