DECATUR, GA. – Newly-elected DeKalb County Commissioner Nicole Massiah will host her first community town hall on Tuesday, May 6, at 6 p.m., at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur.
The town hall comes on the heels of Commissioner Massiah’s successful Live Love Laugh concert—a free outdoor celebration that was held on May 2 and was attended by hundreds across South DeKalb. Now, the focus shifts to strategy, Massiah said. Tuesday’s town hall, she said, marks a critical step in her commitment to transparency and collaboration as she begins her first term in office.
Residents with have an opportunity to dialogue with senior county officials and receive updates on neighborhood issues including code enforcement and legislative issues during the meeting.
“Being present in the community means more than making appearances—it means making space for people to be heard,” said Commissioner Massiah. “This Town Hall is about real conversations, honest questions, and shared solutions.”
In addition to updates, there will be a Q&A, inviting attendees to offer ideas and deepen civic engagement.

Commissioner Massiah brings a unique blend of experience to the Board of Commissioners as an attorney, real estate broker, entrepreneur, and communityadvocate. A graduate of Georgia State University and John Marshall Law School, she has spent her career advancing equitable access to housing, justice, and economic opportunity. Now, as DeKalb’s District 3 Commissioner, she is focused on bringing that same expertise to local governance—prioritizing transparency, accountability, and results.
