Advance Voting Nov. 17 –24, Election Day is Nov. 30
DECATUR, GA—The DeKalb Board of Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb BRE) recently approved details for the upcoming runoff election, scheduled for Nov. 30, and for the designated advance voting period, scheduled for Nov. 17 – Nov. 24.
DeKalb is hosting a number of runoff contests held in three cities: Atlanta, Tucker and Stonecrest. In the City of Atlanta, DeKalb-Atlanta voters will return to the polls to vote for Mayor, City Council President, City Council Member Post 3 At-large, City Council Member District 5, and Board of Education Member District 7 At-large. In Tucker, voters will decide a runoff for City Council Member District 2 Post 1. Stonecrest voters will be voting for City Council Member District Post 1.
“We are encouraging voters to remain aware of the specific races that are now heading to a runoff on Nov. 30,” said DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections interim Director Twyla Hart. “We are hosting advance voting opportunities to ensure voters have an opportunity to cast their votes in person ahead of Election Day.”
DeKalb VRE’s board approved early voting to begin Nov. 17—24, weekdays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday ,Nov. 21, noon until 5 p.m. Advance voting will be available at four locations: DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections Office in Decatur; Stonecrest Library;Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library; and Bessie Branham Recreation Center in Atlanta. Drop boxes are available at all advance voting locations.
Absentee ballots should be requested as soon as possible. The last day to request absentee ballots for the Nov. 30 Runoff Election is Nov. 19. Absentee ballots can be mailed or delivered to a drop box location.
