DEKALB COUNTY, GA— DeKalb County Police announced today(March 12) that Jerome Grogan, 27, has been arrested on sexual battery charges after slapping and groping strangers at local grocery stores–attacks that occurred over several months.
According to the investigation, one of the victims, a 73-year-old great-grandmother, told police that she was traumatized after being slapped hard on her backside by the suspect, who was unknown to her while shopping at a Kroger grocery store.
Grogan was identified and arrested on March 10 in connection with four assaults at the following grocery stores in South DeKalb:
· Kroger, 4919 Flat Shoals Pkwy (2/26/26)
· Publix, 3649 Flakes Mill Road (2/26/26)
· Kroger, 2385 Wesley Chapel Road (9/11/25)
· Publix, 3649 Flakes Mill Road (9/3/25)
Through diligent investigative work, DeKalb County Police were able to locate Grogan, who was wearing the same clothes as he wore in one of the store surveillance videos.
Grogan was transported to DeKalb County Jail, where he is facing three charges of Sexual Battery and one charge of Possession of a Firearm by a First-Time Offender. The suspect is under investigation for other cases and additional charges could be filed, authorities said.
