Emory, AEI StartUp Factory to kick off virtual series of COVID-19 Health Talks Oct. 1

ATLANTA – Emory Healthcare and Emory University are partnering with the Allen Entrepreneurial Institute (AEI) StartUp Factory to offer a series of virtual panel discussions to the Stonecrest and South DeKalb communities during the month of October. Economic development and public health topics will be discussed by community and health care leaders.

The series kicks off today (Oct. 1), 6 to 7:15 p.m.

Mental Health Panel Discussion

Moderator: DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson

Panelists: Nadine Kaslow, PhD, professor and vice chair for Faculty Development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Emory University in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and chief psychologist at Grady Health System; Lori Abramson, clinical director, Behavioral Health at Oakhurst Medical Centers; and Revonda Cosby, executive director, Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area

Oct. 8: The Economic Impact of COVID-19 and Public Health

Moderator: Clarence Boone, Sr., director of Economic Development, City of Stonecrest

Panelists: Allison Chamberlain, PhD, research assistant Professor in Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Mike Carnathan, director Center for Livable Communities; and Emory Professor Tom Smith, PhD, Goizueta Business School

Oct. 22: Economics of Getting Back to Businesses
