STONECREST, GA—A community drive is under way to assist people impacted by the recent tornados that swept Mississippi, leaving a path of destruction and fatalities across the state.
Fletcher’s Bar & Grill, located in the city of Stonecrest, is hosting a drive on Saturday, April 8, noon to 8 p.m. Organizers are asking people to donate necessities and supplies to the victims, many of whom lost everything in the tornadoes, which hit on March 24.
Non-perishable items, bottled water, baby formula, feminine hygiene products, detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, new towels and wash cloths, new socks, blankets, packaged underwear and T-shirts are among the items Mississippi volunteer organizations have listed on social media that are needed.
A tent and truck will be on site at Fletchers to accept the donations on Saturday. Fletcher’s Bar & Grill, 3025 Turner Hill Road, Stonecrest.
