DECATUR, GA— In response to the ongoing cold weather and the urgent need for shelter, Frontline Response has announced the activation of its warming center services from Monday night, Jan. 6, through Monday, Jan. 15, on a 24-hour activation due to the expected cold temperatures in the metro area.
Services have expanded to include two warming center locations:
- Men’s Warming Center: 2585 Gresham Road, Atlanta– Open males only; however, a dedicated space is available to support single fathers with children, who are welcome as well as community partners for alternate location to support all family dynamics.
- Women and Children’s Warming Center: 4000 Covington Highway, Decatur– A dedicated space for women and children, made possible through the partnership with Peace Baptist Church under the visionary leadership of the Rev. Tyrone Barnette.
“We are grateful to Peace Baptist Church for stepping forward to meet this critical need in our community,” said Frontline Response CEO Terry Trucker. “Their support ensures that women and children have a safe and warm space during this winter season.”
Transportation Details:
All pickup locations and schedules remain the same, providing accessible transportation to both warming centers. Residents can refer to the established pickup points to plan their transportation to the shelters. The new women’s location is accessible via MARTA by bus route 115 via the Kensington Station.
