ATLANTA – State Rep. Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, will host the Georgia Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s “Get Out the Vote” rally in partnership with When We All Vote on Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Atlanta-Fulton Public Library’s Metropolitan Branch, 1332 Metropolitan Parkway S.W., Atlanta.
“The purpose of the rally is to drive and motivate people to go to the polls, vote and engage with their community,” said Bennett. “This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime, and I am grateful to Alpha Kappa Alpha for bringing the Southwest Atlanta community together before the election.”
Bennett encourages voters to mask up and follow state COVID-19 guidelines throughout the event. Personal protective equipment will be distributed while supplies last. The event will include entertainment by DJ Pretty Tammi. Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. and When We All Vote are non-partisan organizations. Other non-partisan community partners for this event will include the NAACP, the Divine Nine, End Mass Incarceration Georgia Network and the Black Child Development Institute of Atlanta.
