LAWRENCEVILLE, GA–The Gwinnett County Police Department will host its second annual College Campus Connect Open House for college students and faculty on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event provides an excellent opportunity for dialogue and collaboration with the student community.
College students, teachers, or faculty advisors, are invited to attend the open house, which will be held at the Gwinnett County Police Training Center,854 Winder Highway, Lawrenceville, GA. This is a great chance to engage with law enforcement professionals and learn about the vital role the Gwinnett County Police play in fostering a safe and supportive community environment.
Participants can explore academic and career interests with faculty, chat with recruiters, connect with current police recruits, and get answers from representatives of specialized units. Additionally, you can take a campus tour and meet with training staff officers at the training center. Hear firsthand from Gwinnett Police officers about their experiences, from applying to the academy to their career growth and life with the department.

The Gwinnett County Police offer a 10% hiring incentive on base salary and a $3,500 relocation incentive. Educational incentives of 3% for a two-year associate degree and 6% for a bachelor’s degree are available for eligible candidates. Additionally, all officers receive a 4% annual raise and a 5% shift differential for Night Watch uniform patrol officers. Those who apply and complete the process will receive a Final Job Offer for immediate employment, regardless of the start date for the next police academy.
