GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Two men are behind bars after Gwinnett County Police officers responded to a robbery and uncovered an online human trafficking operation.
Changze Li, 28, of Buford, GA has been charged with Pimping and Keeping a Place of Prostitution.
Dominique Gray, 40, of Winder,GA has been charged with Reckless Conduct, Pandering, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment and Kidnapping.
Officers initially responded to the robbery call on Jan. 20 at 2000 Satellite Pointe in unincorporated Duluth. When officers arrived at the apartment, Changze Li let them in, saying there was a burglary or robbery in progress. As officers entered, they heard glass breaking and a male suddenly appeared from a room bleeding from the hand, according to police reports.
Officers reportedly gave commands to the suspect. They tased the him when he did not comply and threw his phone at the officers. The suspect, identified as Dominique Gray, was arrested and taken into custody at the Gwinnett County Jail where he was held without bond.
On Feb. 9, the Police Department’s’ Vice squad in continuing the investigation into the robbery uncovered an online listing for prostitution services that matched the known phone number for Changze Li. Vice investigators called the number to solicit a person for commercial sex services. They set up an undercover sting to meet a female for those services at an apartment in unincorporated Duluth.
Changze Li was hiding in a room in the apartment when officers arrested him in the sting operation, the Gwinnett Police Department said. He was charged with Keeping a Place of Prostitution, Pimping, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Human Trafficking. Li is currently in the Gwinnett County jail without bond.
