GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) detectives are investigating an overnight shooting that left one male deceased.
On Sunday, July 14, just after 9 p.m., officers assigned to the West Precinct responded to a 911 call of a person shot near the area of 4840 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross. When officers arrived on the scene, they encountered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted to render lifesaving first aid, but the victim died from his injuries. Detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit responded to the scene along with the Crime Scene Unit and officials from the Medical Examiner’s office.
Preliminary details indicate that the victim was shot by one suspect near the wooded area behind the location. Detectives are still interviewing possible witnesses and gathering evidence. The Medical Examiner’s office will determine the official manner of death.
