GWINNETT COUNTY, GA– Marquis Green, 27, of Auburn, GA has been arrested for murder and numerous theft charges in connection with a 60-year-old man who hadn’t been heard from in weeks. Police arrested Green at a restaurant in Duluth, authorities said today, Nov. 15.
The investigation began on Oct. 29. Gwinnett Police officers responded to 1241 Mount Vernon Drive in Lawrenceville for a welfare check on Robert Terry, 60, who had not been heard from in several weeks. Officers found Terry dead in the home.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s ’Office performed an autopsy, ruling Terry’s death a homicide.
According to the investigation, Green was captured on traffic cameras driving one of Terry’s cars around Gwinnett. Additionally, investigators learned that money was missing from Terry’s financial institutions and several important documents were missing from his home. Investigators were able to obtain footage of Green withdrawing several thousand dollars.
On Nov. 14, Green was arrested at a restaurant in Duluth. He was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail . He was charged with felony murder, robbery by intimidation, aggravated assault, financial transaction card fraud, concealing the death of another, identity theft, computer forgery, theft by taking, and aggravated cruelty to animals.
