DeKalb County opens three warming centers through Jan. 17
DeKalb County will open three warming centers for residents to use during expected frigid weather.
Warming centers will be open in the following DeKalb County Fire Stations on Saturday, Jan. 15, through Monday, Jan. 17, beginning at 8 p.m.:
- Fire Station 3, 100 N. Clarendon Avenue, Avondale Estates, GA 30002
- Fire Station 4, 4540 Flakes Mill Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294
- Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta, GA 30316
Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.
City of Atlanta to open two warming centers through Jan. 18
ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta announced the opening of two emergency warming centers in anticipation of frigid temperatures. The centers will open tonight, Saturday, Jan. 15, at 11 p.m. and will remain open through Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 a.m.
The warming centers are located at the former Adamsville Recreation Center, 3404 Delmar Lane NW, and the Central Park Recreation Center, 400 Merritts Ave. NE.
Transportation will be provided at 11 p.m. from the Gateway Center, 275 Pryor St. SW, Atlanta.
Rockdale County opens warming center Jan. 15
ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA– Rockdale County will open a warming center for the homeless to use during the weekend.
The warming center will be open Saturday, Jan. 15, and Sunday, Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m. – 7 a.m. both evenings at the Rockdale Fire Training Annex located at 2150 Iris Drive, Conyers, GA.
Anyone staying in the warming center must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols, which include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.
