LITHONIA, –New Bethel AME Church, 8350 Rockbridge Road S.W., is hosting a Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 22, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
There will be free school supplies, food, games, and prizes. The DeKalb County Health Department also will provide back-to-school immunizations along with blood pressure checks, breast and cervical cancer screenings, diabetes screening and family planning services. C.O.R.E. (Community Organized Relief Efforts) will be giving COVID-19 vaccinations.
Pastor William E. Thomas, Jr., senior pastor of New Bethel AME, thanked community partners for supporting the event.
“I would like to thank our community partners, Willie Watkins Funeral Home, Sams Club, Publix, TriCities Funeral Home, Community Organized Relief Effort (C.O.R.E.), the DeKalb County Board of Health and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Gwinnett County Chapter for their support. Without community involvement we would not be able to continue to serve our community,” said Pastor Thomas. “The community is invited to take part in the fun, food and fellowship, Saturday, July 22, 2023 and on Sunday, July 23 at 9:30 a.m. New Bethel will be celebrating its Homecoming and all are invited to come worship with us.”
