New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Road, Stonecrest, will continue to host a weekly drive-through food pantry on support families in need during the global coronavirus pandemic.
The King’s Table, which feeds approximately 1,000 people each week, opens ach Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at New Birth’s Family Life Center. The ministry, in conjunction with various local and corporate partners, provides free food and other needed toiletry items.
Upon entering the New Birth campus, participants should remain in their vehicle as volunteers load the pre-packaged groceries into the trunk. Drive-through prayer is also offered onsite.
“As our nation and world responds to this pandemic, it is important to remember those families and individuals who may have limited access to healthcare, are reliant on school meals for nourishment and don’t have the luxury to stock up on needed items due to financial hardships,” New Birth’s Senior Pastor Jamal Bryant said.
All food donations are made on a first come, first served basis (while supplies last). New Birth is asking the community to join them in supporting families during this global crisis by donating canned goods and nonperishable items at the church (administrative office side of the building) or make monetary donations at newbirth.org (specify The King’s Table).
